Sophia Lillis (born February 13, 2002) is an American actress. She gained prominence for her roles asBeverly Marsh in the horror filmsIt (2017) andIt: Chapter Two (2019) and as a teenager withtelekinesis in theNetflix drama seriesI Am Not Okay with This (2020).
Lillis has also appeared in theHBO psychological thriller miniseriesSharp Objects (2018), the filmDungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023), and the HBOcomedy thriller seriesThe Chair Company (2025).
Sophia Lillis was born on February 13, 2002, along with herfraternal twin brother, Jake.[4] Lillis and her parents appeared in a 2012 episode ofThe Real Housewives of New York City in which Jake, a bilateralabove-knee amputee, was presented withhybrid running legs byAviva Drescher.[5][6]
Lillis made her film debut starring in the 2016 film37.[7] Previously, she had a minor role inJulie Taymor's stage production ofWilliam Shakespeare'sA Midsummer Night's Dream, which was also filmed for live showings. She is an alumna of theLee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.[8]
In 2017, she rose to prominence after co-starring as one of the lead characters,Beverly Marsh, in the horror filmIt, an adaptation ofStephen King's novel of the same name. Directed byAndy Muschietti,It also starredJaeden Martell,Finn Wolfhard,Wyatt Oleff,Bill Skarsgård,Jack Dylan Grazer,Jeremy Ray Taylor, andChosen Jacobs.[9][10][11] Later that year, she played one ofKristen Bell andDax Shepard's children inSia's music video "Santa's Coming for Us".[12]

In 2018, Lillis appeared in theHBO television miniseriesSharp Objects, in which she played a young Camille Preaker.[13] In 2019, Lillis starred as teenage sleuthNancy Drew in theWarner Bros. film adaptation ofNancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase. While the film received mixed to positive reviews, Lillis's performance was singled out for praise.[14][15] She reprised her role as Beverly Marsh inIt: Chapter Two in 2019.[16]
In 2020, Lillis portrayed Gretel inGretel & Hansel, a re-imagining of the German fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel".[17][18] The following month, Lillis played the lead role in theNetflix original seriesI Am Not Okay with This.[19] In November, she appeared withPaul Bettany inUncle Frank, an independent film byTrue Blood andSix Feet Under creatorAlan Ball, which premiered onAmazon Prime.
In October 2022, Lillis performed inHeroes of the Fourth Turning atStudio Theatre inWashington, D.C..[20]
Lillis appeared in the 2023 filmDungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.[21] She was cast as the younger sister ofMichael Cera's character, Eric, in theDustin Guy Defa filmThe Adults. Lillis is part of an ensemble cast, includingScarlett Johansson,Jeff Goldblum, andTom Hanks, who appear in the 2023Wes Anderson filmAsteroid City.[22]
In July 2024, she was cast in thePeacock television seriesAll Her Fault. She starred alongsideDave Bautista in the 2025 action filmTrap House.
At theGame Awards 2023, video game producerHideo Kojima and filmmakerJordan Peele presented the trailer for their upcoming horror game,OD, with Lillis starring in a leading role.
