Sony Max is an Indianpay television entertainment channel which is a sister channel toSony Entertainment Television, operated byCulver Max Entertainment. The channel started broadcasting on 20 July 1999[1] and is available internationally. It launched aHD simulcast version on 25 December 2015.[2][3]

Its main audience attraction, other thanHindi-language movies, was theTwenty20 cricket tournamentIndian Premier League (IPL),[4] which the channel had been broadcasting since the tournament's launch in 2008 till 2017, after which it sold the broadcasting rights toStar Sports. It also airs complimentary cricket talk show programmes likeExtraaa Innings T20. It occasionally airsHollywood movies andWWE matches inHindi. Sony Max is one of the most watched television channels of India,[5] as of July 2018 the second most popular in the country,[5] as well as the top Bollywood channel in the UK that month, ahead of rivals likeZee Cinema.[6]

Sony Max 1 is a Hindi movie channel fromCulver Max Entertainment, has been launched officially on 1 May 2025.

Sony Max 2 is an Indianpay television channel owned byCulver Max Entertainment and launched in 2014.[7] It is the second Indian channel launched by Sony which is focused solely on oldHindi-language movie broadcasts, being the sister channel of Sony Max. It primarily targets audiences interested in classic Bollywood films, offering a dedicated platform for nostalgia and entertainment.[8][9][10]

Sony Wah is an Indianfree-to-air television channel owned byCulver Max Entertainment. It is targeted towards audience of small towns and rural areas in the country and its programming consists onHindi-language movies and southern Indian films dubbed in that language.[11]
