Soma Takao (高尾蒼馬,Takao Sōma) is aJapaneseprofessional wrestler, working for the Japaneseprofessional wrestling promotionDDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT).[4] Takao has taken part in every edition of DDT's flagship annual event,Peter Pan, where he had a series of 13 straight victories.
Takao made hisprofessional wrestling debut forDDT Pro-Wrestling atRyōgoku Peter Pan on August 23, 2009, where he teamed up withKeisuke Ishii and Yukihiro Abe to defeat Gota Ihashi,Shigehiro Irie, and Tomokazu Taniguchi in asix-man tag team match.[5] He participated in one of the longest matches in professional wrestling history, a108-man battle royal atTenka Sanbun no Kei: New Year's Eve Special, a cross-over event held betweenBig Japan Pro Wrestling,DDT andKaientai Dojo from December 31, 2009, competing against other infamous wrestlers such asGreat Kojika,Taka Michinoku,Kenny Omega,Abdullah Kobayashi,[6] and the winner of the match,Jun Kasai.[7] He is known for his tenure with otherpromotions such asIce Ribbon, where he worked his latest match on May 29, 2020 atIce Ribbon Hiragi Kurumi 20th Birthday And Debut 10th Anniversary ~ Walnut Anniversary, where he teamed up withHiragi Kurumi in a losing effort to Mochi Miyagi and Shigehiro Irie in anintergender tag team match.[8] Takao won theAJPW World Junior Heavyweight Championship atRyōgoku Peter Pan 2016, another cross-over event held by DDT andAll Japan Pro Wrestling from August 28, 2016, where he defeatedHikaru Sato.[9] On May 4, 2019, Takao worked a match forWWNLive, atWWNLive Mercury Rising, where he teamed up with fellowDamnation stable membersDaisuke Sasaki andTetsuya Endo to defeat The Skulk (Adrian Alanis,A. R. Fox andLeon Ruff).[10] Takao worked forDragon Gate as well, in another cross-over event also hosted by DDT, theDragon Gate/DDT Dramatic Dream Gate Returns from June 5, 2012, where he teamed up withSanshiro Takagi to defeat Kotoka andMasaaki Mochizuki.[11]
