Saros cycle series 144 forsolar eclipses occurs at the Moon's descendingnode, repeating every 18 years, 11 days, containing 70 eclipses, 39 of which are umbral (all annular). The first eclipse in the series was on 11 April 1736 and the last will be on 5 May 2980, with annular eclipses falling between 7 July 1880 and 27 August 2565. The most recent eclipse was an annular eclipse on2 October 2024 and the next will be on14 October 2042. The longest duration of annularity will be 9 minutes, 52 seconds on 29 December 2168.
