TheSocialist Party was an Indian political party. It won 12 seats at the1951 Indian general election, coming third.[1] DespiteJayaprakash Narayan's personal popularity, its electoral fortunes did not improve. It merged with theKisan Mazdoor Praja Party, which was formed byJ.B. Kripalani, to form thePraja Socialist Party.
