TheAerial Demonstration Squadron (Portuguese:Esquadrão de Demonstração Aérea, EDA), popularly known asSmoke Squadron (Portuguese:Esquadrilha da Fumaça) is theBrazilian Air Force's air demonstration squadron. It is headquartered at theBrazilian Air Force Academy inPirassununga,São Paulo.
Its first display was on 14 May 1952 over Copacabana beach, using theNorth American T-6 Texan. The EDA was disbanded in 1977, but reformed on 8 December 1983 usingNeivaT-25 Universal piston-powered aircraft, soon to be replaced by the then-newEmbraer EMB-312 Tucano turboprop trainer.
