Slunk

Animal born prematurely or abortively

Aslunk is an animal, especially acalf, bornprematurely orabortively. Slunk skin,calfskin typically obtained as a byproduct ofcattleslaughter, is also known as chickenskin.[1]

Slunk skin is sold commercially and used for example infurniture, drums, and gloves.[2]

We called it slunk skin. The slunk skins were always plentiful, more so than heads for the batter side. These slunk skins were the same ones used for making ladies fine gloves.
