Unincorporated community in Missouri, United States

Sledd is anunincorporated community in southeastPike County, in theU.S. state ofMissouri.[1]

The community is onMissouri Route W two miles south ofPaynesville and approximately one-half mile north of the Pike-Lincoln county line.Guinns Creek flows past the north side of the community.[2]

History

A post office called Sledd was established in 1891, and remained in operation until 1901.[3] Alexander Sledd, an early postmaster, gave the community his last name.[4]
