Slaven Ravlić (born 1 April 1951) is aCroatianlexicographer,politologist andsociologist.[1]
He was born inSlivno nearPelješac. He graduated in 1974 and received his PhD in 1998 at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Zagreb on a thesis titled "Liberalism and democracy in the political theory ofJohn Stuart Mill".[2] He was the editor of the book series (1980–84) and magazineNaše teme (1977–82). Since 1992 he is employed at theMiroslav Krleža Lexicographical Institute, where, among other things, he served as the deputy editor (2001–05) ofCroatian Encyclopedia, and since 2005 as the Editor-in-Chief.[1]
He teaches sociology at theFaculty of Law, University of Zagreb since 2005.[1]
