Skaudvilė (pronunciationⓘ,Samogitian:Skaudvėlė) is atown in theTauragė district municipality ofLithuania. It is located 26 km (16 mi) north-east ofTauragė.
DuringWorld War II, the town was under Soviet occupation from 1940, and then underGerman occupation from 1941 to 1944. In August 1941, the Jewish community of the town was massacred in a mass execution perpetrated by anEinsatzgruppe. 300 Jews were killed.[1]
