Siuraq (Inuktitut syllabics:ᓯᐅᕋᖅ[1]) formerlyTern Island[2] is an island located inNunavut'sQikiqtaaluk Region in thenorthern CanadianArctic. It is situated in theFoxe Basin. The mainland'sMelville Peninsula is to the west,Baffin Island is to the northwest, andKapuiviit is to the northeast. The closestInuit community,Igloolik, is approximately 43.3 km (26.9 mi) to the west.[3]
