Sissala East is one of theconstituencies represented in theParliament of Ghana. It elects oneMember of Parliament (MP) by thefirst past the post system of election. Mohammed Issah Bataglia is the member of parliament for the constituency.[1] Sissala East is located in theSissala East Municipal of theUpper West Region ofGhana.
This seat was created prior to theGhanaian parliamentary election in 2004.
The seat is located within the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region of Ghana. Its northern neighbour isBurkina Faso. To the north west is theSissala West constituency and theWa East is to the south west. From north to south along the eastern border lie theChiana-Paga constituency in theKassena/Nankana District and theBuilsa North andBuilsa South constituencies in theBuilsa District, all within theUpper East Region.
In 2004, theSissala West was carved out of this constituency by theElectoral Commission of Ghana.[2] The MPs and results listed here prior to 2004 are for the old Sissala constituency.
