Sir Thomas Bland Royden, 1st Baronet (20 February 1831 – 29 August 1917) was an Englishship-owner andConservative Partypolitician.

Royden was the son of Thomas Royden ofLiverpool. He was educated atLiverpool College[1] and became head ofThomas Royden & Sons, shipowners.[2] He became a member ofLiverpool City Council in 1873, and wasMayor of Liverpool in 1878–1879.[3] He was also aJ.P. for Liverpool. At the1885 general election Royden was electedMember of Parliament forLiverpool West Toxteth and held the seat until he stood down at the1892 general election.[4] He wasHigh Sheriff of Cheshire in 1903, was appointed adeputy lieutenant ofCheshire at the end of the year,[5] and was created aBaronet on 29 July 1905.[6] Royden lived at Frankby Hall. He died at the age of 86.

Royden married Alice Elizabeth Dowdall. Their sonThomas Royden was later MP forBootle and becameLord Royden. Their daughterMaude Royden became apreacher andsuffragist.[7]
