Sinclair Island Conservation Park is aprotected area in the Australian state ofSouth Australia associated withSinclair Island which is located off the west coast ofEyre Peninsula about 24 kilometres (15 miles) south ofPenong. The conservation park which was declared as Fauna Conservation Reserve in March 1967, was re-proclaimed in 1972 under theNational Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 to ‘conserve island habitat and protectAustralian sea lion haul-out areas.’[4][5]
The conservation park is classified as anIUCN Category IA protected area.[1]
