Simple Desktop Display Manager (SDDM) is adisplay manager (a graphical login program) for theX11 andWaylandwindowing systems.[5] SDDM was written from scratch inC++11 and supports theming viaQML.[6]

SDDM isfree and open-source software subject to the terms of theGNU General Public License version 2 or later.[4]

Adoption

In 2013,Fedora KDE members decided to default to SDDM in Fedora 21.[7]

KDE chose SDDM to be the successor of theKDE Display Manager forKDE Plasma 5.[8][9]

TheLXQt developers recommend SDDM as a display manager.[10]
