Sir Simon Manwaring Robertson (born 4 March 1941), is a British banker and businessman.[1]

Biography

Simon Robertson attendedEton College.[1][2][3]

He worked forKleinwort Benson for 34 years, where he eventually served as chairman of the board.[1][2][4][5][6] He then worked forGoldman Sachs, where he served as President of Goldman Sachs Europe.[1][2][4][5][6] In 2004, he was appointed to the Board of Directors ofRolls-Royce, and he became chairman in January 2005.[1][2][4][5][6][7][8] He also serves on the Boards of Directors ofHSBC Holdings,Berry Brothers and Rudd, andThe Economist.[1][2][4][5][7][8][9] He has served on the Boards of theLondon Stock Exchange,Invensys, andInchcape.[1][4][5] He runs Simon Robertson Associates.[1][2][4][5][7] He is a member of the30% Club, a group ofFTSE-100 Chairmen committed to having at least 30% of their Boardmembers being female.[10]

He sits on the board of directors of theRoyal Opera House, and on the board of trustees of theEden Project.[1][2][4][5][6][7][8][11] He is a member ofWhite's. He was knighted in 2010.[3][6] He is a member of theConservative Party Foundation.[12] He is reportedly worth £95 million.[2]

Robertson wasknighted in the2010 Birthday Honours for "services to business".[13]
