Simon F. Green (born 1959) is anastronomer. He is a Senior Lecturer in Planetary and Space Science at theOpen University. He specializes in the study ofasteroids andtrans-Neptunian objects, and for a long time worked with theIRAS satellite to detect fast moving objects. In 1983, along withJohn K. Davies, he discovered theApollo asteroid3200 Phaethon.
Asteroid9831 Simongreen is named after him.[1]
