Simon Richard Baker III (born March 30, 1986) is anAboriginalCanadian actor ofCree,Haida, andSquamish descent. He has appeared inStrange Empire (2014),Murdoch Mysteries (2017),Outlander (2022), andHey, Viktor! (2023).
Baker hails fromNorth Vancouver-Capilano,British Columbia, and is ofCree,Haida, andSquamish descent.[1] He is a graduate of theCanadian Film Centre Actors Conservatory.[2]
Baker began his filming career at the age nine in the movieOnce in a Blue Moon.[3] He played Charlie Muskrat inNorth of 60.
In 2023, he worked withFortisBC to present a series of documentaries calledThe New Energy onFirst Nation peoples on how indigenous communities have engaged in economic, energy and cultural resourcefulness, to move forward while still preserving their culture and traditions.[1]
