Simon Kofi Adingra (born 1 January 2002) is an Ivorian professionalfootballer who plays as awinger forPremier League clubBrighton & Hove Albion and theIvory Coast national team.[1]

Club career

Early career

A former player ofRight to Dream Academy, Adingra joined Danish clubNordsjælland in January 2020.[2] He made his professional debut on 18 April 2021 in a 2–2 league draw againstCopenhagen. He replacedIvan Mesík at the 68th minute of the game and went on to score his team's second goal.[3]

Brighton & Hove Albion

On 24 June 2022, Adingra transferred toPremier League clubBrighton & Hove Albion, signing a four-year contract.[4] Ten days later, Adingra joined Brighton's Belgian sister clubUnion SG on loan for the2022–23 season.[5]

Adingra made his Brighton debut as a substitute in the opening game of the2023–24 season on 12 August. He scored the Seagulls' third goal in an eventual 4–1 home win over newly promotedLuton Town.[6] During that same season, Adingra made his first Premier League start on 16 September in a 3–1 victory overManchester United in which he recorded an assist.[7]

Upon returning to Brighton after winning the 2023 AFCON title, Adingra would score a brace in a 5-0 win againstSheffield United on 18 February, 2024.

International career

In March 2023, Adingra received his first call-up to theIvory Coast senior national team for twoAfrica Cup of Nations qualification matches againstComoros.[8]

On 3 February 2024, Adingra scored a 90th minute equaliser in an eventual extra-time 2–1 win againstMali in the quarter-finals of2023 Africa Cup of Nations.[9] On 11 February, he provided two assists and was named as man of the match in the tournament'sfinal againstNigeria, which ended in a 2–1 victory for Ivory Coast.[10][11]
