Siebenrockiella is a smallgenus of black marsh turtles. It used to bemonotypic but now has twospecies with the addition of thePhilippine forest turtle (moved from the genusHeosemys). The genus was originally erected in 1869 byJohn Edward Gray under the nameBellia, commemoratingThomas Bell,[2] but this name is ajunior homonym ofBellia Milne-Edwards, 1848, acrustacean genus.[3] Thereplacement name,Siebenrockiella, was published in 1929 byWassili Adolfovitch Lindholm, and commemoratesFriedrich Siebenrock.[4]
