County in Khuzestan, Iran
Shush County (Persian :شهرستان شوش ) is inKhuzestan Province, Iran. Its capital is the city ofShush .[ 3] The ancient city ofSusa is located in Shush County.
After the 2006 National Census, the village of Rashg-e Shavur was elevated to city status asShavur .[ 4] Saleh Moshatat also rose to the status of a city[ 5] and was later renamedFath ol Mobin .[ 6]
In 2019,Shavur District was separated from the county in the establishment ofKarkheh County .[ 7]
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 189,793 in 33,313 households.[ 8] The following census in 2011 counted 202,762 people in 47,304 households.[ 9] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 205,720, in 55,194 households.[ 2]
