Shokat Ali (born 4 March 1970) is asnooker player who has represented Pakistan in international tournaments.[1][2]

Career

Ali turned professional in 1991.[1] He appeared on theBBC1 game programmeBig Break in 1997.[3]

At the1998 Asian Games, he won a gold medal in thesnooker singles, a bronze medal in thesnooker doubles and a bronze medal in thesnooker team event.[4][5]

He defeatedJimmy White to reach the last 16 of the1998 Grand Prix.[1] At the2001 Thailand Masters, Ali reached the quarter-finals, beatingRonnie O'Sullivan en route.[6]

In 2005, hiscue was stolen from his car parked at his garage inLancashire,[7] and he suffered a deterioration of results as he struggled to find another cue he could show his best form using.

He represented Pakistan in the2006 Asian Games held inDoha, Qatar.[8]

He dropped off the game's main professional tour in 2007, but showed signs of a return to form in 2008, winning an event on the secondaryPIOS Tour.[9][1]
