Shinya Miyamoto (宮本 慎也,Miyamoto Shin'ya, born November 5, 1970) is a former professional baseball player fromSuita, Osaka, Japan. He playedshortstop.

Miyamoto playing forJapan in the2008 Summer Olympics.

He was chosen as the captain of theJapanese olympic baseball team for the2004 and2008 Summer Olympics, and won a bronze medal in 2004. He was also part of the2006 World Baseball Classic Japanese baseball team.
