Shebayo (Saluaio[2]) is an extinctArawakan language ofTrinidad[3] and perhaps the Venezuelan coast, or inthe Guianas according toLoukotka, who incorrectly classified it asCariban.[4] It is only attested by a few words in a 1633 book byJoannes de Laet.[1] Aikhenvald (1999) classifies it with theTa-Arawakan (Caribbean Arawakan) languages.[5]
