Shawn Weatherly (born July 24, 1959) is an American actress and beauty queen who won the titles ofMiss USA 1980 andMiss Universe 1980.[1] She starred as Cadet Karen Adams in the filmPolice Academy 3: Back in Training (1986) and asJill Riley in the first season of the TV seriesBaywatch (1989–1990).
Shawn Weatherly was born on July 24, 1959, inSan Antonio, Texas, and was raised inSumter, South Carolina.[2] She grew up alongside two brothers, Kurt and Michael. Their father, Albert Weatherly, was aLieutenant Colonel in theUnited States Air Force. Their mother, Joanne Weatherly, died of cancer in 1968.[3]
Weatherly attendedClemson University as a nursing major and was a member of theDelta Delta Delta sorority.[4]
Weatherly is best known for her work asJill Riley on the television showBaywatch and for the early reality showOceanquest, which had her swimming with sharks.[5][6][7] She played a small part onThe Dukes of Hazzard episode "Coy vs. Vance," and she appeared in other shows such asThe A-Team,T. J. Hooker andHappy Days.[8] She also had a main role in the 1986 comedy filmPolice Academy 3: Back in Training.[9] In 2014, she was in the horror-comedy filmLove in the Time of Monsters.[8]
In 1994, Weatherly married Chip Harris, president of a biotech research company, and they have two children. Previously, she had relationships withTed McGinley,Lee Majors andDwight Clark.[4][10][11]
