Sha'tah (Arabic:الشعثة) is a hamlet in centralSyria, administratively part of theSuran Subdistrict of theHama District. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Sha'tah had a population of 103 in the 2004 census.[1]
In the late 19th or early 20th century, Sha'tah was sold by theBani Khalid tribe of central Syria to theurban notables ofHama. Its inhabitants wereSunni Muslims.[2]
