Sharon Duncan-Brewster (born 8 February 1976) is a British actress. She is known for her role as ImperialPlanetologist Dr.Liet-Kynes inDenis Villeneuve's 2021 adaptation of Frank Herbert'sDune, and before that asCrystal Gordon inBad Girls during the first four series (1999–2002); her role asTrina Johnson onEastEnders (2009); and her role as Maggie Cain in the autumn 2009Doctor Who special, "The Waters of Mars". More recently, she has playedWeyland-Yutani scientist Albrecht inAlien: Containment (2019), Senator Tynnra Pamlo across theStar Wars franchise, and a version ofProfessor Moriarty inEnola Holmes 2 (2022).

Career

From 1999–2002, Duncan-Brewster portrayed the role ofCrystal Gordon in the first four series ofITV prison drama seriesBad Girls. After leaving the programme at the end of its fourth series, she guest-starred inHolby City,Waking the Dead,Babyfather and daytimesoap operaDoctors. From February to September 2009, Duncan-Brewster appeared on the BBC soap operaEastEnders asTrina Johnson, estranged wife ofLucas Johnson. She appeared in the 2009Doctor Who special "The Waters of Mars" as Maggie Cain.[1] Duncan-Brewster also appeared on the medical TV seriesBody Story in 1998, playing a club singer and influenza patient named Holly Jones. In 2011, Duncan-Brewster appeared in all four episodes of the TV dramaTop Boy. She originated the role of "C" in the playCrave bySarah Kane, and played the role of Catherine Hunter, who isAlex Hunter's mother, in theFIFA 17's story mode known as "The Journey". Duncan-Brewster reprised the role of Catherine Hunter inFIFA 18's "The Journey: Hunter Returns" andFIFA 19's "The Journey: Champions". She also portrayed Kitty in theBBC One production ofThe Long Song in December 2018, andWeyland-Yutani scientist Albrecht inAlien: Containment in March 2019.

In 2022, Duncan-Brewster starred inEnola Holmes 2 portraying a version ofProfessor Moriarty.

In theStar Wars universe, she portrays Senator Tynnra Pamlo. She first played the character inRogue One: A Star Wars Story and later returned to voice the character inStar Wars: The Bad Batch.[2]
