Population

As of October 2020, the town has an estimatedpopulation of 11,418 and apopulation density of 15 persons per km2.[1] The total area is 736.97 km2.

History

DuringWorld War 2 on 22 June 1945 Shari came under attack from the submarineUSS Barb. This attack was notable for being the first submarine-based rocket attack against a surface target.[2]
