TheSham Chun River orShenzhen River (Chinese:深圳河;pinyin:Shēnzhèn Hé) serves as thenatural border betweenHong Kong andmainland China, together withDeep Bay,Mirs Bay, and theSha Tau Kok River.

It formed a part of the limit of thelease of theNew Territories in 1898 in theConvention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory (known also as the Second Convention of Peking).
It separatesYuen Long District,North District ofHong Kong, and thecity ofShenzhen,Guangdong. Its source is atWutong Mountain, Shenzhen. Itstributaries includesPing Yuen River,Shek Sheung River,Sheung Yue River,Ng Tung River,Buji River andTan Shan River. TheShenzhen Reservoir also flows into the river when it is full.
The river flows intoDeep Bay (also known as Hau Hoi Wan and Shenzhen Bay). TheMai Po Marshes is at itsestuary.
Efforts have been made to alleviate flooding and pollution problems through river draining, which produced theLok Ma Chau Loop.
