Shakti Anand (born 23 September 1975) is an Indian television actor, best known for his role as Hemant Virani in theStarPlus blockbuster soap operaKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and its sequelKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. He also appeared in various television shows like Tenali Rama,Saara Akaash,Sambhav Asambhav andEk Ladki Anjaani Si.[1] The actor also hosted the first season of the crime reality showCrime Patrol in 2004.[2][3]
Anand was born on 23 September 1975 inDelhi in aPunjabi family.[4] He studied at the Tamil Education Association university in Delhi and majored in the Science stream.[4] After that, he received his master's degree in pharmaceutical engineering.
Anand married actressSai Deodhar in 2005. They have a daughter born in 2011.[4]
Shakti received the offer to act in the television showKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi while he was working as a medical examiner withGE Capital in Delhi.[5] He played a blind boy in telefilmNayan Jyoti, produced byDeepak Sharma and edited by Sanjeev Khanna for Doordarshan.
Shakti and his wifeSai Deodhar participated in the first season of the celebrity dance showNach Baliye. In the serialGodh Bharaai, he performed as the character Shivam.[1]The actor had worked in the daily soap calledBharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap asMaharana Udai Singh. He has also worked in the showSuperCops vs Supervillains onLife OK. Shakti was also seen as Shiv in the showGangaa on&TV and as Emperor Balakumara in popular Tenali Rama aired onSony SAB. Anand was last seen playing Amber Singh, in the show Channa Mereya that aired onStar Bharat.
Since March 2023 he portrayed Karan Luthra replacingShakti Arora oppositeShraddha Arya post generation leap inZee TV'sKundali Bhagya[6][7] until the show off-aired in December 2024.[8] Since July 2025, he reprised his role of Advocate Hemant Virani in theStarPlus'sspiritual sequel ofKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, entitledKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.[9]
