TheShadow Cabinet of Lindiwe Mazibuko succeeded theShadow Cabinet of Athol Trollip as theOfficial Opposition Shadow Cabinet. Not long afterLindiwe Mazibuko was elected as the parliamentary leader by the Democratic Alliance's caucus on 27 October 2011,[1] she announced a new shadow cabinet, on 1 February 2012.[2][3]

In her capacity of parliamentary leader, Mazibuko lead the Official Opposition Shadow Cabinet and represented party leaderHelen Zille in parliament, who wasPremier of the Western Cape. Elected alongside Mazibuko was Watty Watson, as Chief Whip, and formerFulbright ScholarWilmot James as Chairman of the Caucus.[1] This Shadow Cabinet included the Democratic Alliance's Federal Executive ChairpersonJames Selfe,CODESA negotiatorDene Smuts, along with formerFulbright ScholarSej Motau andHarvard Mason FellowDavid Maynier.
