Sergio Melta (born 19 January 1959[1]), is an Australian formerfootballer, who had an extensive career in Australia'sNational Soccer League (NSL), spent entirely withAdelaide City.[2]

Melta won the NSL's player of the year award in 1984.[3]

International

Melta was given his international debut byFrank Arok but ultimately played just once for theAustralian national team, a friendly againstCzechoslovakia played atHindmarsh Stadium in his home city ofAdelaide in 1986. Melta was substituted off after 57 minutes during the 0–1 loss.[4]

Coaching career

Melta took over the head coaching role of West Torrens Birkalla in the FFSA Premier League. On 5 February 2013 he was appointed as assistant coach forA-League clubAdelaide United.[5] He is the current coach/manager ofWhite City which competes inNational Premier Leagues South Australia.
