Sergio Marcos González (born 3 February 1992) is a Spanishfootballer who plays as acentral midfielder forRSD Alcalá.

Club career

Marcos was born inSacedón,Province of Guadalajara,Castilla–La Mancha, and graduated fromAtlético Madrid's youth academy. He made his debut as a senior withthe reserves in theSegunda División B.[1]

In summer 2012, Marcos moved to anotherreserve team,Villarreal CF B also of the third division.[2] He was appointed theircaptain at the start of the2014–15 season.[3]

Marcos first appeared with themain squad in competitive matches on 15 February 2015, starting in a 2–0La Liga away loss againstRayo Vallecano.[4] On 9 July, he was loaned toSegunda División clubCD Lugo in aseason-long deal.[5]

Marcos scored his first professional goal on 8 November 2015, the game's only in a 1–0 away victory overGirona FC.[6] On 21 July of the following year, he was transferred toReal Valladolid also in division two after agreeing to a three-year contract;[7] midway through the2017–18 campaign, he left for fellow second-tier sideCultural y Deportiva Leonesa.[8]

In June 2021, Marcos signed forRacing de Santander.[9] Having achieved promotion to the second division in hisonly season, contributing 27 games but only starting six, he automatically renewed his contract;[10] shortly after, however, he was deemed surplus to requirements by new managerGuillermo Fernández Romo and left.[11]

Marcos subsequently dropped down to theSegunda Federación, where he representedHércules CF andCD Guadalajara.[12]
