Sergio Barcia Laranxeira (born 31 December 2000) is a Spanish professionalfootballer who plays as acentral defender forSegunda División clubUD Las Palmas, on loan from Polish clubLegia Warsaw.
Barcia was born inVigo,Galicia, and joinedRC Celta de Vigo's youth setup in 2010, aged nine,[2] from Club Colegio Hogar.[3] On 23 August 2019, after finishing his formation, he was loaned toTercera División sideOurense CF forthe season.[4]
Barcia made his senior debut on 1 September 2019, playing 31 minutes in a 2–0 away loss againstDeportivo Fabril.[5] He was a regular starter during the campaign, appearing in 26 matches as his side missed out promotion inthe play-offs.
On 31 August 2020, Barcia signed a three-year contract withGranada CF and was initially assigned tothe reserves inSegunda División B.[6] He made his first team – andLa Liga – debut on 8 November, starting in a 2–0 away loss againstReal Sociedad, as his side was heavily impacted by theCOVID-19 pandemic.[7]
On 18 July 2022, Barcia returned to Celta and was assigned tothe reserves inPrimera Federación.[8] On 4 July 2023, he signed a two-year deal withSegunda División sideCD Mirandés.[9]
On 11 July 2024, Barcia joined PolishEkstraklasa clubLegia Warsaw on a permanent deal, signing a three-year contract.[10] Roughly one year later, after being rarely used, he returned to his home country after agreeing to a one-year loan deal withUD Las Palmas in the second division.[11][12]
