Seppo Mikkola (born 1947) is aFinnishastronomer. He is a senior lecturer at theUniversity of Turku and staff member atTuorla Observatory.
Mikkola is a leading expert incelestial mechanics. He has made fundamental contributions to the theory ofregularization of motion in the gravitationalN-body problem.[1] Mikkola was a member of the team that determined the unusual orbit of3753 Cruithne. He was also the a member of the team that identified524522 Zoozve as aquasi-satellite ofVenus, in 2004, two years after the actual discovery of the object.[2][3]
