Sentinel-1C is a Europeanradar imagingEarth observation satellite launched on 5 December, 2024 byVega C.[1][2][3][4] It is the third satellite in theSentinel-1constellation, part of theEuropean Union'sCopernicus programme.[5][6][7][8] The satellite is equipped with aC-bandSynthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) instrument, capable of providing high-resolution imagery regardless of weather conditions.[9]

Development contract signed withThales Alenia Space of Italy in December 2015.[10] Launch was scheduled for April 2023[11][12][13] but was delayed due to a launch failure ofVega-C in December 2022.[14] It was launched on 5 December 2024.[15]
