Selwyn Gerald MaisterQSM (born 24 May 1946) is a former New Zealandfield hockey player, who was a member of the national team that won the golden medal at the1976 Summer Olympics inMontreal.

Maister was awarded theQueen's Service Medal in the2012 New Year Honours, for services to hockey.[1] Maister earned aDPhil in inorganic chemistry fromMagdalen College,Oxford, as aRhodes Scholar, arriving in 1969.[2]

He is a brother of hockey playerBarry Maister.
