Seeland is a town in theSalzlandkreis district, inSaxony-Anhalt,Germany. It is situated northwest ofAschersleben. It was formed by the merger of the previously independent municipalitiesFriedrichsaue,Frose,Hoym,Nachterstedt andSchadeleben on 15 July 2009.[3] Before this date, these municipalities cooperated in theVerwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") Seeland, which also contained the municipalityGatersleben. Gatersleben joined Seeland in September 2010.[4]
