Scott Sowerby is a Canadian historian and Associate Professor in the Department of History,Northwestern University.
He was awarded a PhD fromHarvard University in 2006. His bookMaking Toleration: The Repealers and the Glorious Revolution was awarded theRoyal Historical Society'sThe Whitfield Prize and was shortlisted forPhi Beta Kappa Society'sRalph Waldo Emerson Award.[1] The book is aboutJames II of England's allies in repealing penal laws against religious minorities (such as theDissenters andCatholics), a group Sowerby labels the Repealers.
