Savannah station is anAmtrak train station inSavannah, Georgia. It serves theFloridian,Palmetto, andSilver Meteor; it is the southern terminus of thePalmetto. The station has oneisland platform and oneside platform which together serve two main tracks and one siding of theSavannah Subdivision.
The station was constructed in 1962 by theAtlantic Coast Line Railroad as a replacement forSavannah Union Station, which was demolished for the construction ofInterstate 16 into the downtown area. The $1.5 million station was built in themid-century modern style.[3]
On November 10, 2024, theSilver Star was merged with theCapitol Limited as theFloridian.[4]
