Sauromalus klauberi,commonly called theCatalina chuckwalla or thespotted chuckwalla, is a species ofchuckwalla, alizard in thefamilyIguanidae. It isendemic to Mexico[1][3] The species was firstdescribed in 1941.[2]
S. klauberi is endemic toIsla Santa Catalina inBaja California, Mexico.[1][3] Adults occur primarily on rocky hillsides, onbluffs, and inarroyo bottoms.[1]
S. klauberi is named in honor ofLaurence Monroe Klauber, anAmerican amateurnaturalist.[3][4]
S. klauberi isoviparous,[3] laying between 13–15 eggs. Adults have a mediansnout–vent length of 14.4 cm (5.7 in).[1]
