Sasken Technologies Limited (formerlySasken Communication Technologies Limited) is an Indianmultinationaltechnology company, based inBangalore,India, which providesproduct engineering anddigital transformation services to global customers in industries such assemiconductors,automotive,consumer electronics, enterprise grade devices,Smart devices andwearables, industrials, andtelecommunication.
Sasken began as the brainchild of Rajiv C Mody, its chairman & MD, and three other co-founders: Krishna Jhaveri, Suresh Dholakia, and Badruddin Agarwala. Sasken came into being asSilicon Automation Systems in 1989 in a small warehouse inFremont,California. Later, the company changed its name toSasken Communication Technologies Limited. The name 'Sasken' is a portmanteau of its original name (SAS) and 'ken', the Scottish word for knowledge.
In February 2017, Sasken announced that it had changed its name to Sasken Technologies Limited to serve customers in businesses ranging from automotive, enterprise grade devices, smart devices and wearables, industrials, and satellite communication.[2] In January 2018, Sasken unveiled a new logo.[3]
Sasken employs 2000+ people, operating from development centers inBengaluru,Pune,Chennai,Kolkata,Ahmedabad (Sasken Silicon), andHyderabad (India),Kaustinen andTampere (Finland),Detroit (USA), andBeijing andShanghai (China). Sasken also has a presence acrossGermany,Japan,UK, andUSA.
In July 2022, Sasken announced that Abhijit Kabra was appointed as the CEO.[4]
In June 2024, Sasken's Board designated Rajiv C. Mody as chief executive officer of the Company in addition to his current position as chairman and managing director.[5]
Sasken Network Engineering Limited (SNEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sasken, was created when the company acquired the operations of Blue Broadband Technologies.[6]
Sasken acquired iSoftTech Private Limited, Chennai in June 2006.[7]
In September 2006, Sasken acquired the Finnish company Botnia HightechOy, now known as Sasken FinlandOy.[8]
On 24 January 2007, Sasken entered into a joint venture with Tata Autocomp, known as TACO Sasken Automotive Electronics Pvt Ltd (TSAE).[9]
In April 2025, Sasken acquired BORQS International Holding Corp, an embedded software and products company.[10]
