Sarajevo-Romanija Corps (Serbian:Сарајевско-романијски корпус,Sarajevsko-romanijski korpus) was one of the six corps of theArmy of Republika Srpska (VRS),[1] established on 22 May 1992. Before implementation into theArmy of Republika Srpska, the corps was known as4th Sarajevo Corps ofYugoslav People's Army.[2] Commanders of the corps wereTomislav Šipčić,Stanislav Galić andDragomir Milošević.[2] The corps numbered 23,000 soldiers. During theWar in Bosnia and Herzegovina around 4,000 soldiers died.[3]
The headquarters of the Sarajevo-Romanija Corps was inPale. Responsibility zone of the Sarajevo-Romanija Corps was determined byNišići,Ilijaš,Hadžići,Vogošća,Istočno Sarajevo,Ilidža,Treskavica andGoražde, over 150 km2 of front (1993). Sarajevo-Romanija Corps participated in operations Ilidža,Lukavica, Sedrenik,Tekbir and more.[4][2][5][6]
