Sarah Jones (born in Winter Springs, Florida) is an American film and television actress. She began her screen career in 2004 with guest appearances on series such asMedical Investigation,Cold Case, andJudging Amy. She gained wider recognition for recurring roles onHuff,Ugly Betty,Big Love, andSons of Anarchy, before starring as Detective Rebecca Madsen in the Fox seriesAlcatraz (2012). Since 2019, she has played NASA astronaut Tracy Stevens in the Apple TV+ science fiction dramaFor All Mankind. Jones has also appeared in films includingStill Green, for which she won a Spirit of the Independent Award for Best Ensemble, andChemical Hearts (2020).

Jones was born inWinter Springs, Florida, and graduated from Winter Springs High School in 2001.[1] She "grew up dancing" with the expectation that it would become her career, but she turned to acting as "the next best thing" after her dancing ended because of injuries.[2] She had gotten her first break working as a dancer for theMTV Movie Awards.[3]
She began in acting with a role onMedical Investigation, before going on to appear in other television credited roles that same year, including episodes ofCold Case andJudging Amy, before she appeared in the 2007Hallmark Channel movie,Murder 101: College Can Be Murder.[4]
Jones also appeared in a recurring role as Leah on the television showHuff, guest-starred in a 2006 episode ofUgly Betty as Natalie Whitman, andBig Love as Brynn. She played the youngest of three sisters who run a wedding planner business inFox's 2007 short-liveddramedyseriesThe Wedding Bells. She also appeared in two independentmovies,Still Green andThe Blue Hour. Jones won the Spirit of the Independent Award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival for Best Ensemble forStill Green (2007), which she shared withRyan Kelley,Douglas Spain,Noah Segan, Paul Costa and the rest of the cast of the film. She can also be seen in theCary Brothersmusic videoWho You Are.[5]
She portrayed Polly Zobelle, the scheming daughter and accomplice ofEthan Zobelle inSons of Anarchy.
In 2011, she had a featured guest starring role in theFXcrime dramaJustified episode "The Life Inside". Other notable credits include a recurring role onBig Love andLone Star. Jones then signed on to play the lead role of Det. Rebecca Madsen in theJ. J. Abrams show,Alcatraz.[6][7] Jones has received wide recognition for her portrayal.[8] She took part in a recreation of the chase scene inBullitt. The show premiered on January 16, 2012. While the series itself was moderately received, her performance was generally praised by critics. Despite an impressive start, the series was officially cancelled by Fox on May 9, 2012, due to dropping viewership throughout its run.[9] However, Jones was featured in a May 2012 spread forVanity Fair magazine, and she quickly returned to series television, being cast as a regular onVegas.[10]

In 2018, Jones was cast as Lynn in CBS drama pilotL.A. Confidential, based onJames Ellroy's 1990novel of the same name.[12]
In 2019, Jones starred asNASA astronautTracy Stevens in theApple TV+ originalscience fiction spacedrama seriesFor All Mankind.[13] In 2021, Jones reprised her role in season 2.
Jones was datingCary Brothers in 2007.[14] She was dating fellowSons of Anarchy actorTheo Rossi from 2010 until 2013. Jones describes herself as a feminist.[15]
