Nicholas Armstrong (born March 1, 2001), known online asSapnap, is an AmericanYouTuber andlivestreamer known for hisMinecraft content. Along withDream andGeorgeNotFound, he is part of the Dream Team and was a founding member of theDream SMPMinecraft server. He has co-ownedNRG Esports since 2022.

Career

Sapnap uploaded his first YouTube video on October 20, 2019. He became known for his collaborations with fellowMinecraft personalitiesDream andGeorgeNotFound, known collectively as the "Dream Team" since 2019.[5][6] His videos with the group often featuredMinecraftspeedrunning challenges.[5][6] He began streaming onTwitch, and in early 2020 he was the fourth person to join the roleplay-basedDream SMPMinecraft server, after Dream, GeorgeNotFound, and Callahan.[5][7]

Sapnap has often participated inMC Championship events and consistently ranked as one of the tournament's strongest players.[5][8] He has also competed in Squid Craft Games, an event organized by Spanish-speakingMinecraft creators, and wonthe second edition in March 2023.[9] He is known especially for hisplayer versus player (PvP) skills.[5] In addition toMinecraft, his livestreams have included games such asValorant,Fortnite andCounter-Strike: Global Offensive.[5] He has taken part in Twitchchess tournaments such asPogChamps.[10][11] He has appeared in several YouTube videos byMrBeast, including one in which he won a ten-person game of tag.[5][12]

Sapnap started hosting theBanter podcast with YouTuberKarl Jacobs in September 2021.[5] Upon the release of the first episode, which featured MrBeast, the show briefly overtookThe Joe Rogan Experience asSpotify's top podcast.[5][13] GeorgeNotFound joined as co-host in August 2022.[5]

In October 2022, Sapnap signed with and became a co-owner ofNRG Esports.[14][15] He announced that he would begin livestreaming on the siteKick in August 2023.[7]

Personal life

Nicholas Armstrong was born inTexas on March 1, 2001.[5][16] He moved toOrlando, Florida, in 2021 to live with Dream, and the next year they were joined in the "Dream Team House" by GeorgeNotFound.[5]
