Santiago Mitre (Spanish pronunciation:[sanˈtja.ɣoˈmi.t̪ɾe],MEE-tray;[1] born 4 December 1980) is an Argentinefilm director andscreenwriter. He was named as a member of the jury of theCritics' Week section of the2016 Cannes Film Festival.[2] In 2016, Mitre won the Havana Star Prize for Best Director for his filmPaulina at the 17thHavana Film Festival New York.[3]
In 2025, Mitre was appointed the jury president of the Progressive Cinema, Freestyle and Grand Public Competition sections at the20th Rome Film Festival.[4] Mitre won The Cinema for Peace Dove for Justice Film of the Year in 2023 for film Argentina, 1985.[5]
