Santiago Menghini is a Canadian filmmaker and visual effects artist.[1] He is best known for directing the 2021 horror filmNo One Gets Out Alive.[2]
A cofounder withDominique Dussault andJonah Malak of the Nemesis Films studio in 2012,[3] he directed a number of short films in his early career, includingIntruders (2014),[4]Voyagers (2015),[5]Milk (2018),[6] andRegret (2020).[7]
Milk won the Midnight Shorts Jury Award at the 2018 edition ofSouth by Southwest and the award for Best Director in the short film competition at the 2018Fantasia International Film Festival,[6] and was aPrix Iris nominee forBest Live Action Short Film at the21st Quebec Cinema Awards in 2019.[8]Regret won the Midnight Shorts Jury Award at SXSW in 2020.[9]
On October 9, 2025, it was announced that Menghini would directThe Revenge of La Llorona, a sequel to the 2019 filmThe Curse of La Llorona. It starsMonica Raymund,Jay Hernandez,Raymond Cruz,Edy Ganem, Martín Fajardo, Acston Luca Porto and Avie Porto.[10][11]James Wan serves as a producer through hisAtomic Monster banner. The film will be released theatrically in the United States byNew Line Cinema andWarner Bros. Pictures.
