Santarém is one of the 22multi-memberconstituencies of theAssembly of the Republic, the nationallegislature ofPortugal. The constituency was established in 1976 when the Assembly of the Republic was established by theconstitution following therestoration of democracy. It is conterminous with thedistrict ofSantarém. The constituency currently elects nine of the 230 members of the Assembly of the Republic using theclosedparty-list proportional representationelectoral system. At the2024 legislative election it had 377,261 registered electors.
Santarém currently elects nine of the 230 members of the Assembly of the Republic using theclosedparty-list proportional representationelectoral system.[4][5] Seats are allocated using theD'Hondt method.[6][7]
