Santa Branca is a municipality in the state ofSão Paulo inBrazil. It is part of theMetropolitan Region of Vale do Paraíba e Litoral Norte.[2] The population is 14,857 (2020 est.) in an area of 272.24 km2.[3] The elevation is 648 m. The Rodovia Governador Carvalho Pinto (SP-070) passes north of Santa Branca.
The municipality contains part of the 292,000-hectare (720,000-acre)Mananciais do Rio Paraíba do Sul Environmental Protection Area, created in 1982 to protect the sources of theParaíba do Sul river.[4]
In telecommunications, the city was served byCompanhia de Telecomunicações do Estado de São Paulo until 1975, when it began to be served byTelecomunicações de São Paulo.[5] In July 1998, this company was acquired by Telefónica, which adopted theVivo brand in 2012.[6]
The company is currently an operator of cell phones, fixed lines, internet (fiber optics/4G) and television (satellite and cable).[6]
