Sanna Margit Valkonen (born 12 December 1977) is aFinnish formerfootballdefender. She played forKontU,PuiU,MPS andHJK Helsinki in theNaisten Liiga,Boston Renegades in theW-League,[3] andUmeå IK,AIK Fotboll andKIF Örebro[4] in theDamallsvenskan. She was namedFinnish Footballer of the Year in 2001 and 2002.[5]
She was a member of theFinnish national team for fifteen years,[6] and played the2005 and2009 European Championships, serving as the team'scaptain.[7] She was as of 2014 thesecond most capped Finnish player with 120 games, behind onlyLaura Österberg Kalmari with 130.[8]
